Summary:
As you can see from the charts below, the number of homes sold is starting to
rise. This is mostly attributed to the government tax incentive programs. These
incentives end April 30th so there may be a drop-off in homes going under
contract in May. Although, spring time is
the most active time of year for buyers so the loss of government
incentives may not be too noticeable.
What's more disturbing is the continued downward trend in the average price of homes sold . The added pressure of record foreclosures and bank owned properties will continue to put downward pressure on sale prices.
